The 14th Party Central Committee of Vietnam has commenced its third meeting in Hà Nội, with Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm at the helm. Spanning five days, the session is dedicated to executing the directives of the 14th National Party Congress with a focus on enhancing Party governance, reforming the political infrastructure, and propelling the nation’s development forward.

Key discussions during the meeting will revolve around 13 pivotal policy areas. These include enhancements to State governance, reforms in land law, and restructuring of the economy. The committee is also set to deliberate on fostering growth driven by technology, environmental conservation, and ensuring national security. Another significant aspect of the discussions will be the evaluation of the new political system’s effectiveness, the two-tier local administration model, and suggestions to elevate Quảng Ninh and Bắc Ninh to the status of centrally governed cities.

In his address, Tô Lâm urged the committee members to focus on making decisions that are practical and action-oriented. He highlighted the importance of removing obstacles to development, unlocking national resources, and upgrading public services. His call to action stressed that all resolutions should be promptly converted into detailed implementation plans, complete with designated responsibilities, timelines, and measurable results.

This meeting is seen as a critical step in reinforcing the Party’s governance and adapting Vietnam’s political and economic systems to meet contemporary challenges. By concentrating on these strategic policy areas, the committee aims to lay a robust foundation for sustainable national advancement.
