Vietnamese Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng has lauded the robust collaboration between Vietnam and Laos’ agencies focused on inspection, auditing, and anti-corruption during a recent meeting with Vanhxay Phongsavanh, a senior Lao official, in Hanoi. This meeting underscored the importance of the ongoing partnership as both nations aim to achieve their respective development objectives.

The discussions between the two countries highlighted the need to bolster efforts in governance and discipline, aiming to enhance transparency and combat corruption, waste, and other detrimental practices. Prime Minister Hưng emphasized the significance of these initiatives, calling for an increase in experience sharing, personnel training, and joint efforts in managing complaints, improving institutional frameworks, and strengthening inspection and supervision mechanisms.

Furthermore, the two countries agreed to improve their cooperation in identifying and addressing cases involving cross-border elements. They also recognized the importance of expanding the use of information technology and digital transformation within their inspection and auditing processes, which could significantly enhance their efficiency and effectiveness.

The meeting reaffirmed both nations’ dedication to fulfilling existing cooperation agreements and further solidifying the enduring relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
