In a bid to bolster bilateral relations, Vietnam and Russia are exploring expanded cooperation in human resource training, scientific research, and technology. This development was highlighted during discussions held in Hanoi on October 7 between Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Chairman of the Commission for Policy and Strategy of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, and a Russian delegation.
The talks emphasized leveraging Russia’s expertise in high technology to meet Vietnam’s development needs. Both nations are seeking to enhance collaboration through joint research and training programs, recognizing human resource development as a crucial long-term partnership area. The discussions also touched upon the importance of strengthening links between educational and training institutions, facilitating expert exchanges, engineer training, and initiating joint research projects.
Beyond human resource development, the meeting identified science and technology, innovation, energy, and the oil and gas sectors as potential areas for expanded cooperation. These sectors present opportunities for deeper engagement and more substantial collaborative efforts between the two countries.
The meeting underscored a shared intent by Vietnam and Russia to deepen their cooperation in education, technology, and strategic research. By focusing on these areas, both countries aim to foster more meaningful and strategic partnerships that align with their respective national interests and development goals.
