In an effort to bolster economic ties, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, engaged in discussions with Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar, Nguyen Huy Hiep. The meeting, which took place at the chamber’s headquarters in Lusail, centered on enhancing trade and economic relations between Qatar and Vietnam.
The dialogue aimed at fostering collaboration between the private sectors of both nations, with a particular focus on identifying new investment opportunities and key areas for future cooperation. Al Kuwari expressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to facilitating stronger partnerships and joint ventures between Qatari and Vietnamese businesses, acknowledging Vietnam’s impressive economic growth as a motivating factor.
Ambassador Hiep echoed a similar sentiment, underscoring Vietnam’s eagerness to deepen economic collaboration with Qatar. He pointed out that bilateral trade had surpassed $860 million in 2024, which marked a $100 million increase from the previous year. Encouraging Qatari investors to seize opportunities in Vietnam, he highlighted potential sectors such as agriculture, food processing, and halal products, while also stressing the importance of Qatar Chamber’s role in promoting Vietnamese goods in the Qatari market.
In addition to discussing trade, the ambassador extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to participate in the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026. Scheduled to be held in Ho Chi Minh City next September, this annual exhibition serves as a significant global trade event, concentrating on sourcing, exports, and supply chain partnerships. It attracts international companies and industry leaders from diverse sectors, including food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics.
