This commitment was underscored during a meeting involving Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Quốc Dũng and top World Bank representatives. The Vietnamese authorities acknowledged the vital role the World Bank has played in supporting sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, environmental conservation, and overall sustainable growth. They pointed out that projects funded by the World Bank have been instrumental in advancing water resource management, improving food security, and bolstering climate adaptation strategies across Vietnam.

Deputy Prime Minister Dũng emphasized that ensuring water security is of strategic importance to Vietnam, particularly in the face of escalating climate-related threats in areas like the Mekong Delta. Officials highlighted that central to the bank’s forthcoming partnership agenda with Vietnam will be a focus on water security and measures to adapt to climate changes.
